Jackson-Olin HS student arrested for having a gun

Birmingham police confirm that Jackson-Olin High School was placed on temporary lockdown today after a student alerted staff that a classmate had a gun on campus.

Birmingham Sgt. Johnny Williams says that the student has been arrested and never threatened anyone with the weapon. He says another student had knowledge of this situation and alerted staff.

The student who possessed the weapon has been arrested.
