Birmingham police have charged two suspects with killing a Georgia man found dead in a car earlier this week.
Bridgett Bradley, a 39-year-old woman, and William Brown, a 23-year-old man, face capital murder charges in the death of James Burke McConnell, a 44-year-old man from Trenton, Ga. Both suspects are from Birmingham.
Police believe McConnell was in the area of 3rd Avenue West to solicit a prostitute.
"McConnell's death occurred during the course of a robbery as he solicited the suspect Bradley for sex," Sgt. Johnny Williams said in a release.
Officers found McConnell's body inside a car in the 1100 block of 3rd Avenue West Alley on Monday, Jan. 14. Later that day, police said they had one suspect in custody in connection to the homicide. By Thursday, they had charged Bradley and Brown with capital murder.
Bradley and Brown are in custody of the Jefferson County Jail. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Birmingham police at 205-254-1764.
