Woman shot in southwest Birmingham

Police are investigating a shooting that happened in southwest Birmingham Sunday afternoon.

Birmingham police officers were called out at 12:30 p.m. to the 2700 block of Princeton Avenue. Captain Henry Irby with BPD says when they arrived on the scene, they found a female who had been shot. She was transported to a local hospital.

There is no update on the woman's condition and police are not releasing any other information at this time.
