Mother: 'I would give my life for her to get her back'

The parents of an East Texas little girl are speaking out after her tragic death. 

Patricia and Israel Preciado are asking for prayers, after their 16-month-old was killed when a Chapel Hill ISD school bus ran over her. 

Neighbors told KLTV that little Aria Liz Preciado followed her mother, Patricia, outside to pick up her sister from the school bus.

Witnesses said Patricia did not know her daughter had followed her out to the street. Neighbors said they ran to the bus and started yelling at the driver to stop. However, the driver pulled forward, killing Ariana. 

Patricia and Israel said little Aria would have turned two-years-old in September. 

"She's very smart. Each time she wakes up she is never cranky, with a smile, giggling. She was a happy child. I can't say nothing bad about her," said Aria's mother, Patricia Preciado. 

Patricia said Aria was the youngest of four children, all girls.

"I just wish I had my baby, but I know she's gone," Patricia said, holding back tears. 

In an instant, everything changed for this family.

"I'm just left with a reason, question why so soon?  I just never thought this would happen to me. I can't hold no grudge to God, everybody has their time. I just never thought it was going to be my baby so soon," Patricia said as her husband, Israel, wrapped his arm around her. 

It is a love this mother said will last forever and a love so strong, she would give anything to bring her daughter back.

"I would do anything. I would give my life for her to get her back, I would. I wouldn't think twice about it. I would just have her here, I would give my life up for her, I would," Patricia said.
