A shooting that left a man dead in northeast Birmingham on Sunday has been ruled a case of self-defense.
Police say Demetrius Thompson, a 43-year-old from Birmingham, was shot to death in the 9000 block of 14th Avenue North just before 10 a.m. Jan. 20.
The Jefferson County District Attorney's office has ruled the case as self-defense. Birmingham police say Thompson was attempting to shoot the person who shot and killed him.
No arrests have been made in the case.
