The U.S. Postal Service is honoring Alabama native and civil rights icon, Rosa Parks. She is being featured on a "forever stamp."
It is to commemorate what would have been her 100th birthday on February 4th. In 1955 in Montgomery, Parks was arrested after she refused to give up her seat on the bus to make room for a white man. That violated the segregation laws.
Her actions sparked a boycott that eventually led to desegregation of bus transit.
