
Kairos Braised Cabbage

6 cups Shredded Cabbage
1 large sweet onion, sliced thin
1 large red onion, sliced thin
1/2 cup chopped Fresh Cilantro
1/2 cup sliced Green Onions
3 pieces bacon, sliced
Sea Salt (to Taste)
White Pepper (to Taste)
1 pinch celery salt
1 small pinch cayenne pepper
1 clove garlic, minced
4 tablespoons olive oil
2 cups sugar, melted in 1 cup of hot water
Cover the bottom of a 9x12 casserole dish with olive oil. Add in the bacon, garlic, and onions evenly. Layer the cabbage evenly over the dish and sprinkle on green onions and cilantro. The Cabbage will be higher than the dish but will shrink up as it cooks. Season with Sea Salt, White Pepper, Celery Salt, and cayenne pepper. Don't stir it or move it around. Just put in each layer and sprinkle the seasonings over the top. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil evenly over the top. Pour Sugar and Water evenly over the whole dish. Cover tightly with Aluminum Foil and bake for 45 minutes. Uncover and stir up ingredients. This is one of my favorite dishes with cabbage. Serve hot, and refrigerate the leftovers. This can be used cold on sandwiches or reheated.
