Traffic stopped on Highway 280. Source: WBRC videoSome citizens in Mountain Brook are concerned that ALDOT's plans to get rid of Highway 280 gridlock will actually cause safety issues.
There is a community meeting Wednesday evening to discuss their concerns. Citizens have been invited to join Mountain Brook city leaders, ALDOT officials and Skipper Consultants to review a presentation of the modified changes to the Highway 280 plans.
ALDOT held a meeting last November to discuss the original set of proposed changes, which included eliminating signals at some intersections. Afterwards, they accepted public comments on those proposals.
The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. at Mountain Brook Junior High School.
FOX6 News reporter Christy Hutchings will share more about this meeting tonight at 10.
