The suspect in the Dale County hostage standoff, Jimmy Lee Dykes, is now officially pronounced dead, even though federal agents killed him in a shootout Monday.
Dykes' time of death was not announced until last night, because the coroner was not allowed access to the body until then. The Dale County Coroner says Dykes was shot multiple times, but would not say exactly how many times or where the bullets hit him.
Dykes had been holding a young boy, Ethan, hostage and also killed a Dale County school bus driver. Ethan is now back home with his family.
