BEST IN BUZZ - Jaime Sullivan, our Gossip Mom, joined us with the latest buzz out of Hollywood. She discussed Chris Brown and his community service, Kim Kardashian and her divorce, and Jaime's own horror film that she recently sold. You can follow her on Twitter and keep up to date on her film - @jaimeprimak.
BARGAIN MOM - Bargain mom Christie Dedman joined us this morning with some Valentine's Day deals! She bought the Egg Shaper for a $1 at Walmart and says it actually works. She made heart shaped egg sandwiches for dinner last night. The thing actually worked really well. They were in the dollar bin area. Tips for using it, since there are no instructions:
1. The center wooden handle folds out and allows you to pick up the shaper while it's in the skillet.
2. The handle even though it's wood gets hot so be careful.
3. Once the egg had cooked sufficiently on the bottom I removed the form and flipped the egg then put the form back around the egg to contain the yolk.
4. You can use it on toast, which I did and also with pancake mix.
5. It's dishwasher safe.
ChristieI stopped by her local Lowe's and scored a 3 feet by 5 feet area rug for $7. There were a few left at the Trussville location including play rugs for $6. Call your Lowe's to see if they have anything similar. The main aisle features the clearance items they want to move quickly. And Christie recently made her daughter a frugal Valentine's Day shirt using an old dress she used to wear as a baby and some vintage lace trim from her grannie's sewing basket. She simply cut a heart shape out of the dress and pinned it to the center of a long sleeve shirt she bought at Walmart for $3.47. Then she trimmed the heart with the lace by gathering it and stitching it and the material to the shirt. For more deals, visit the Bargain Mom's blog at http://blog.al.com/bargain-mom/2013/.
