(WMC-TV) - A Mid-South man is recovering at The MED after he said he went to meet a woman for a planned sexual encounter.
The victim was rushed to the hospital after a planned meeting with a Mississippi woman turned into a violent robbery.
Sex outside of the Byhalia Raceway? That is what the man thought he had arranged Thursday night with Jennifer Jones. But he got anything but pleasure from the meeting.
"A male black suspect came out of the black Escalade that she was driving and through the driver's side window of the car, started assaulting our victim with a bat," said Major Kelly McMillen, Marshall County Sheriff's Department.
Shattered glass and blood splatters remain on the victim's car, but the man's money, car keys, and prescription pain medications are gone.
"Basically left him for dead is what we think," said McMillen.
The unidentified man was able to call Marshall County sheriff's deputies.
Keaundra Moore is accused of beating the victim with a bat. Moore, Jones, and Jones' husband, Johnnie, all face charges of armed robbery and aggravated assault.
McMillen credits Benton County Deputy Bobby Dickerson with helping to track down the suspects.
McMillen was able to learn Jones' identity and had Deputy Dickerson serve a warrant at the couple's home in Benton County. Outside, he found the black Escalade.
"We were able to locate an aluminum bat, softball bat, that had red a red type substance on it that appears to be blood," said McMillen.
Authorities also found the victim's pill bottle and were able to make their case for charges against the three.
The victim is expected to recover and could even be released this weekend.
It is still unclear about a relationship between the victim and the suspects, who could be formally charged any minute.
