The coroner confirmed today that Eric Lawson Corley, 21, passed away from his injuries he suffered in the Jan. 25 wreck. James David Shirley, a 16-year-old from Center Point, also died in the wreck.
Authorities say the 17-year-old driver lost control of a Ford Escape on Trussville-Clay Road and wrecked around 5:15 that night. Investigators say the vehicle left the road and hit a large rock in an adjacent ditch.
Two other teenage passengers also suffered serious injuries in the wreck, and the driver suffered minor injuries.
