IRS will accept tax returns with education credits Feb. 14

If you're planning to claim an education credit on your taxes make sure you mark Valentine's Day on your calendar.

Feb. 14 is the first day the IRS will accept returns with form 8863, which is the education credit form. When the filing season kicked off, the IRS was still updating the system that processed those forms.

It will be up and running soon the accept the American Opportunity Tax Credit and the Lifetime Earning Credit. For more information, visit irs.gov.
