Hoover Fire was called out around 3:30 p.m Sunday afternoon to a house fire in the 2300 Block of Abbeyglen Circle in the Ross Bridge neighborhood. When fire fighters arrived on the scene, they found the second level of the house on fire.
The fire was put out a short time later. Neighbors say they heard a loud boom, followed by a power outage and saw smoke coming from the house. The cause of the fire is under investigation but investigators believe the fire might have been caused by a lightning strike.
"We're
sure it was caused by lighning. Essentially, it involved one room in upstairs of
the house," said Frank Brocato with Hoover Fire.
The house received smoke damage and there was fire damage to one bedroom. There were no injuries.
