Northport police officer involved in accident

NORTHPORT, AL (WBRC) -

The Northport Police Department says one of their officers was involved in a two-vehicle accident on Sunday.

The accident happened around 2:15 p.m. in the 2700 block of Lurleen Wallace Blvd. The officer was responding to a shots fired call.

Both drivers were transported to DCH Regional Medical Center.

The Alabama Department of Public Safety is investigating.
