HOOVER, AL (WBRC) -

Even though plans have changed, a lot of people in Hoover are still unhappy about a proposed new neighborhood.

The Hoover planning and zoning commission voted unanimously to rezone the property off Caldwell Mill Road near Berry Middle School. Developers will be able to move forward with their plans, pending approval of the full council.

Residents of the current, surrounding Inverness neighborhoods raised concerns about everything from an increase in traffic to a decrease in their property values. The new subdivision will involve cutting down many trees and clearing woodland.

The proposed 109 new homes will certainly increase the population in the area.

There is no date set for the full Hoover council to review the proposed development.
