A Mulga man has been arrested on robbery charges after authorities say he robbed a convenience store.
Jefferson County officials say Jesse Jordan, 47, was waiting inside the Mulga Mart Convenience Store on Mulga Loop Road when employees arrived to open it Monday. Deputies were called out to the scene just after noon to investigate the robbery in progress.
An employee at the store told deputies he had just opened up the store and saw a man inside. The man pulled out a knife, demanded money, and fled from the scene once he was given the money.
Deputies and other law enforcement officers, including a K9 team, searched for the suspect after getting a description of him. Officers found Jordan in a wooded area near the convenience store and took him into custody. He was positively identified as the robbery suspect.
Jordan has been charged with first degree robbery, second degree burglary, theft of property and resisting arrest. He is being held in the Jefferson County Jail on a $99,000 bond.
