Scott Griffin (WBRC photo)Grandma Murphy used to tell folks "that grandson of mine can talk! He is gonna be a preacher or politician or something!" Well, she was close. Scott Griffin knew his life's calling at age ten when he would tape Howard Cosell's Monday Night Football intro and listen intently as to how he communicated. That plus a life-long interest in sports led to a career in sports broadcasting.
Griffin has been in the industry since starting at WSGN Radio as an 18 year old. The journey has carried him from WBRC-TV in 1980 as a weekend photographer to WERC Radio, WCFT-TV as Sports Director, WVTM-TV, ESPN Radio, WJOX Radio and WIAT-TV, then back to WBRC-TV in August 2012.
An avid weightlifter and biker, Griffin loves to spend time with his daughters Lesley who is a recent graduate of the Art Institute in Atlanta in digital film production and photography and Hannah who attends the University of Alabama.
