Tuscaloosa man arrested for sexual abuse

TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) -

A Tuscaloosa man has been arrested on charges of sexual abuse of a child.

Tuscaloosa Police, in a statement Wednesday to FOX6 News, said Jerry Lewis Swindle, 63, had been arrested and charged with three counts of sexual abuse.  He was arrested Thursday morning in the 500 block of Waco Road.

Investigators said the unidentified victim, now 37 years old, contacted police in October, stating she was sexually abused by Swindle as a child.  They conducted an investigation and presented evidence to a grand jury who then indicted Swindle.

Swindle was placed in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on $50,000 bond.
