Man faces multiple felony charges in Tuscaloosa

TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) -

The Tuscaloosa Police Department says they have arrested a man on several felony charges.

The arrest stems from an incident on Saturday morning when police were told that someone was breaking into vehicles in the parking lot at 700 NE Tamaha Trace around 1:45 a.m. At the scene, a complainant told officers that two suspects were trying to get into vehicles when the complainant activated the alarm on her vehicle and the suspects took off running.

One suspect was located and found a door to a residence was open. The resident told officers that a TV was missing from the living room. The TV was found outside of the building and marijuana was found on the suspect.

19-year-old Andrew Madison Smith was charged with unlawful breaking and entering of a vehicle, 2nd degree burglary and 2nd degree unlawful possession of marijuana. He is being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a $26,000 bond.
