BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Authorities say one person was killed in a wreck on I-59 on Thursday. It happened in the southbound lanes near the Roebuck Parkway exit.

Officials on the scene said it took around 30 minutes to remove the victim from the car. Authorities have not released the victim's name or the cause of the wreck.

Only one car was involved in the crash.
