Police: Altercation on Pinson Valley Parkway leads to shooting

Birmingham police are searching for the suspect who shot a man this evening in the 3900 block of Pinson Valley Parkway.

Captain Henry Irby says the victim was taken to the hospital but his condition is not known.

Police have taped off the parking lot of a Dollar General as homicide detectives and forensic units investigate. Police add that the shooting is not related to the business, but appears to have happened after an altercation between the victim and the suspect.
