The owner of a restaurant in downtown Anniston faces felony charges after allegedly assaulting a police officer.
David Mogil owns the "Damn Yankees" restaurant on Noble Street.
Anniston Police Sergeant Chris Sparks says police answered a
"disturbing the peace" call Monday morning. Sgt. Sparks said when the
officer confronted Mogil, he ran inside a nearby business.
Police say Mogil punched the officer in the head multiple times and fled, but was arrested by two other officers.
Mogil is charged with second degree assault, which is a felony, for
assaulting an officer. He's also charged with resisting arrest and
disturbing the peace.
