Pleasant Grove carjacking suspect caught

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Police chased a suspect in a Saturday morning carjacking and kidnapping this morning.

Two children were reported to be in a truck that was stolen from a gas station in Pleasant Grove.  The suspect dropped the children off before leading authorities on a chase Southbound on the Northbound lanes of I-20/59 causing several accidents.

The suspect ditched the vehicle near Jaybird Road  and was captured after police searched a nearby Brighton neighborhood.
