The drowning victim has been identified as Kari Danna Thomas, 26, of Remlap. Source: WBRC videoA Remlap woman drowned Saturday night after a vehicle she was in overturned in the Cahaba River.
Karie Danna Thomas, a 26-year-old from Remlap, was with a group of other off roaders when her Jeep overturned while trying to cross the Cahaba River. Police say the vehicle got caught in an current. Thomas was trapped inside the Jeep and drowned, according to Sgt. Jason Hill with Irondale Police.
The accident happened in a wooded area off Floyd Bradford Road. Authorities say Thomas was one of three people inside the Jeep.
The accident is under investigation.
