A 13-year-old in Anniston was shot Sunday night in what police believe was the result of an argument.
Anniston Police Sgt. Chris Sparks told FOX6 News the shooting happened Sunday around 9 p.m. in the Constantine Homes apartments, a public housing complex.
As officers were responding to the scene, they were flagged down by parents of the victim, an unidentified 13-year-old male, who they were transported to RMC. The 13-year-old was taken to RMC where he was treated for what authorities say were non-life threatening injuries.
Sgt. Sparks said the 13-year-old, who was visiting friends at the apartment complex, got into an argument with someone who lived at the apartment. At some point in the argument, the suspect brandished a handgun. Sgt. Sparks said as the 13-year-old tried to flee, the person with the gun opened fire.
Sgt. Sparks said investigators have identified a suspect but, as of Monday afternoon, no arrests have been made.
