TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, AL (WBRC) -

The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office is warning the public about a fake Facebook account using Sheriff Ted Sexton's name.

They say the page facebook.com/ted/sexton.9 is requesting that people text a phone number to request money in exchange some type of prize money. Sheriff Sexton said in a press release that the account is "no way associated with me or my office."

Sexton says he has contacted Facebook about the account and is working to have it taken down.
