Jefferson Co. man arrested for sending pornographic photos to a

Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies have arrested an Adger man accused of sending pornographic photos to a minor.

William Ray Reeves, Jr., 56, was charged with transmitting obscene material to a child by computer, which is a Class B felony.

Deputies were first made aware of the situation when their Sex Offender Unit received an anonymous tip that an unknown person was sending pornographic photos of himself to a 14-year-old girl through Facebook.

The investigation lead to Reeves and deputies executed a search warrant at his home March 14. During the search deputies uncovered evidence linking Reeves to the crime and he was subsequently arrested and placed in the Jefferson County Jail.

Reeves has since posted a $30,000 bond and was relased from jail the same day.

During the search at Reeves house, investigators also found evidence indicating that there may be additional victims in the case. Anyone with information regarding the situation should contact the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Sex Offender Unit at 205-325-5800.
