BESSEMER, AL (WBRC) -

Police have released the identity of the person killed in a shooting Friday night in Bessemer.

Police identified the victim as Defarris Parham, an 18-year-old from Pleasant Grove. He was shot near 14th Street and Highway 150, Bessemer Police Deputy Chief Mike Roper confirmed.

Parham's body was found between Davis Middle School and Roosevelt Park. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

People in the area heard gunshots and reported the shooting to police.

There are no suspects at this time.
