Bessemer Police have arrested a 19-year-old suspect in the murder of a Pleasant Grove teenager killed last Friday.
Police have charged Derionas Ronale Sewell with the murder of Defarris Parham, 18. Parham was shot to death around 8:40 p.m. Friday, March 15 in the 1200 block of Clarendon Avenue.
Officers found Parham's body between Davis Middle School and Roosevelt Park. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Bessemer Police Sgt. Perry Hurst sent out a release Tuesday morning saying Sewell has been arrested and is now in custody.
