The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office tells FOX6 News that a young boy shot during a possible murder-suicide is in stable but critical condition.
Deputies confirm the deceased victims as Brandon Menefee, Tiffany Bozeman and Gabrielle Menefee. They also say that five-year-old Davion Menefee is currently the sole surviving victim of what deputies believe to be a murder suicide.
Davion's father, Brandon Menefee, was found dead in a car in Fairfield Wednesday. The same day, deputies were called to the apartment where Davion apparently lived with his mother, Bozeman, 30, and three-year-old sister, Gabrielle. Bozeman and Gabrielle were declared deceased at the Rocky Ridge Road apartment.
Davion was airlifted from the scene to Children's of Alabama.
Deputies also add that the gun found inside Brandon Menefee's vehicle is the same caliber as the shell casings found at the apartment.
Chief Deputy Randy Christian tells FOX6 News that "at least one person reported [Brandon Menefee] was having a hard time" being estranged from his family. Deputies have not commented otherwise on a motive for the crime.
