Tyler Derobert Guyton. Source: Tuscaloosa Police DepartmentA 17-year-old from Tuscaloosa will be charged as an adult in connection to a March 17 shooting, police said Thursday.
The charges against the teenager are related to two separate incidents this month. Officers declined to disclose information on the first incident because Guyton was charged as a juvenile.
Tyler Derobert Guyton was arrested and placed in juvenile detention March 19 for seperate charges. Investigators filed additional charges, including attempted murder, against Guyton March 21.
In the second incident, officers responded to a call reporting shots fired in the 500 block of E. 31st Avenue on March 17. The victims told police they were outside when Guyton began shooting at them. They said they ran back inside and Guyton fled the scene.
Police say two of the victims in the shooting were involved in the first incident. Neither victim was hurt during the shooting.
Juvenile investigators then obtained warrants for two counts of attempted murder and one count of shooting into an unoccupied auto/building.
Guyton is being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a $35,000 bond.
