The family of Jarmaine Walton, the 15-year-old killed in a shooting at Railroad Park, has announced his funeral arrangements.
A public viewing was held Friday, March 22 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Brooks Family Funeral Home located at 2885 Allison Bonnet Memorial Drive in Hueytown.
Several parents brought their children, who were either classmates or friends of Walton. Darius Hawkins says he and Walton attended fifth grade together at Councill Elementary School.
"He always been a nice boy, stayed out of trouble a lot. I'm sad to see this happen to him...stuff like this should not happen," Hawkins said.
Walton's funeral will be held on Saturday, March 23 at 1 p.m. at the Brooks Family Funeral Home Chapel. His family said his funeral expenses have been completely covered by donations.
A vigil for Walton is also planned for Saturday, March 23 at Railroad Park.
