BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

The Red Cross is offering more details about how much damage was caused by Monday's severe storms.

The Alabama Red Cross says 437 homes were damaged. 69 of those were destroyed; 120 with major damage and more than 240 have minor damage.

The Red Cross says these numbers will increase since they have not been able to visit all of the affected areas.

Dozens of Red Cross volunteers and staff are providing relief to those affected.

Monday's fierce storms spawned four tornadoes in our state and brought straight-line winds which approached 100 miles per hour in some spots.
