JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL (WBRC) -

The Jefferson County Coroner has identified the body found in the Warrior River last week.

The body of Floyd Thomas Carlee, 53 of Bessemer, was pulled from the river near Smith Camp Road March 20. A fisherman spotted his body and called deputies to the scene near Oak Grove in the western part of the county.

Bessemer Police Sgt. Perry Hearst says Carlee has been missing since July 27, 2012. He left his truck at a friend's house and was last seen in the 600 block of 4th Avenue in Bessemer.

Jefferson County Sheriff's investigators have not said if foul play was involved in the case but Carlee's mother, Ruth, is convinced someone killed her son.

"Yes, somebody did it...I don't know how, but they did it someway or another," she said.

Ruth says she is upset and heartbroken and wants justice for her son. Authorities called her Monday with the news that her son was the one pulled from the river last week.

"I didn't want it to be him...I just wanted closure," Ruth said. "You just want closure."

Sherea Harris is following this story and will have more tonight at 9 and 10.
