In one week, the Montgomery Biscuits baseball team will step up to the plate for its tenth season.
With that comes one challenge for staff there--enticing people back to the stadium.
There's no doubt opening night at the Biscuits' stadium draws a crowd.
"We're expecting another sell-out for opening night," says Sales Director, Scott Trible.
But what about the rest of the season?
"We are going in to our 10th season, so some people may not necessarily get that stale feeling, but they want things to be different than the last time they came out."
Like brothers Forrest and Frazier Hull, for instance.
"I was out probably 5 years ago. It has been a while," says Frazier.
Both live out of town, now, but say the games are options when they visit home.
"Something out of the ordinary to go to and just have a good time," says Frazier.
Employees are constantly pitching new ideas to try and attract people to the baseball games. They believe they've hit on one that could be a home run.
"We wanted to do something fresh, we wanted to give back to our fans," says Trible.
They created Freebie Fridays--nights of giveaways and free food for kids.
"I have a two and a half year old and one more on the way so that family environment is a lot more enticing for me," says Forrest Hull.
Staff members have also added benefits to season ticket packages--things like buffet dinners and tickets to games in other cities.
"We're happy with where we're at but we could obviously be doing better," adds Trible.
Staff members say if you're interested in attending Freebie Fridays, you might want to purchase tickets soon.
They expect these nights to sell out quickly.
