BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Two men have been charged with murder in connection to a body found in the Warrior River last month.

The body of 54-year-old Floyd Thomas Carlee was found on March 20 by a fisherman. Corey Steven Clark, a 24-year-old from Bessemer, and Christopher Lee Baughn, a 28-year-old from Hueytown, were arrested in the case on April 3 and April 4, respectively.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, the suspects robbed Carlee and beat him to death at a mobile home park on 4th Avenue in Bessemer in July 2012. Investigators believe he was placed in the river to cover up the murder and say the suspects had planned ahead to carry out the assault on the victim.

Both men are charged with capital murder. They are being held in the Jefferson County Jail under no bond.

Officials expect more arrests in the case. The investigation is ongoing.
