DEKALB COUNTY, AL (WBRC) -

Alabama state troopers are investigating a vehicle accident that killed a Fort Payne man. It happened Saturday morning around 4:30 a.m. on DeKalb County Road 83 about five miles north of Collinsville.

Troopers say 68-year-old Fed Quinton Terrell was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu when he ran off the roadway and into a creek.

Terrell, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers say alcohol was a factor.
