ANNISTON, AL (WBRC) -

Anniston police are investigating a break in at Wellborn High School over the weekend.

Officials say they have a few leads as they look for whoever stole electronics from the school and left it in a mess.

Police say the school's principal called them on Sunday, April 7. Investigators found broken glass and broken doors to multiple classrooms. A school inventory found laptops and hand-held radios missing.

Police think it happened between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. Sunday and believe the thieves did more property damage than anything.

There were multiple doors forced open into the classrooms throughout the building, and a lot of glass broken. Initially estimates indicate the property damage will likely outweigh the property stolen.

When FOX6 stopped by the high school Monday, we found maintenance trucks parked in front of the school and a broken door leaning against one of the trucks. We're told the school operated on a normal schedule today.

Just last week, someone broke into Ohatchee High School. Three months ago, police also looked into a similar burglary at Wellborn Elementary School next door. So far police haven't made arrests in either case.
