We have been watching a developing severe weather situation for the past ten days and it looks like the severe threat is diminishing as the cold front moves faster across east Texas.
There could be a few isolated strong storms but the majority of severe weather should now develop off to our east.
Tuesday, a layer of very warm air around 5000 feet of the surface helped protect East Texas from thunderstorm development. This was great news because if a storm would have developed it would have rapidly become severe.
A great tool to follow the latest on severe weather is the KLTV StormTracker 7 Weather App. It is like having the KLTV Weather Team in the palm of your hand. Click here and download for free: http://www.kltv.com/story/15090028/new-apps-for-your-smartphone
Behind this front much cooler air will spill into the area. Late Wednesday afternoon temperatures will be in the 50s along the I-30 corridor with the mercury falling through the 60s elsewhere. Stay with KLTV and KLTV.com for the latest weather developments. If you have not done so now would be a great time to go to your smart phone or tablet app store and download the KLTV weather app to give you the latest severe weather information.
