Jefferson County Commissioners are getting a refresher course in the duties of the Jefferson County Manager.
County Manager Tony Petelos has been on the job since October of 2011. Last week, county attorney Jeff Sewell sent out a letter warning commissioners of not interfering with the county manager's office over fears of violating the state law.
Sewell has since been placed on paid administrative leave. An executive session will be held Thursday, April 11 to determine a plan of action in that matter.
Tuesday, Commission President David Carrington gave out copies of the county manager law and the county organizational chart to the commissioners.
Carrington said the county may have to make further changes in their organization to comply with the law.
