BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Damage reports are coming in as a result of the storms that are moving through the state.

In Pickens County along Pine Grove Road, just south of Macedonia, there are trees snapped and uprooted, powerlines down and fences damaged. State police report damage to one house and possible a second home. Storm spotters also report a large number of trees down along CR 75.

A trained storm spotter reported seeing a tornado around 1 p.m. near Ethelsville but NWS surveyors have not yet confirmed this. A home in Ethelsville is missing part of a roof due to the storms.

In Fayette County, the emergency manager reports that there is a tree and power pole down on 7th Street Southeast. There are also reports of power lines down across from the local Walmart.

The winds also knocked over some gas pumps at the Tenn Tom gas station in Bigbee Valley, Miss. just across the state line. Several of the gas station employees took shelter in a cooler. One employee described hearing a sound like an approaching train as strong winds passed over the gas statin.

In Winston County, the EMA says there are trees and power lines down along CR 195 in the Poplar Springs community. There have also been several tweets of trees down on CR 45. The county's emergency manager reports the same thing and adds that there is possible structural damaged along CR 45 near CR3734 with possible injuries.
