Two men accused of murdering a Tuscaloosa teenager are now behind bars. This is after one of the suspects led police on a search across state lines.
17-year-old Matthew Callahan was killed in a shooting on Tuesday night in the parking lot of Tuscaloosa's River Road condominiums. Police were able to identify the suspects in the homicide as 24-year-old Timothy "Junior" Thornton and 18-year-old Kiunte "Felon" Furr.
After gathering information for several days, law enforcement officers finally got the break they needed Sunday morning. Interviews led officers to an apartment in Savannah, Georgia where U.S. Marshals were able to take 18-year-old Kiunte Furr into custody.
Thornton turned himself in to police late Sunday afternoon. Also taken into custody was woman by the name of Sherita Bellinger. She was charged with hindering the apprehension of a fugitive.
