Police: Woman injured by box cutter in Gadsden fight

GADSDEN, AL (WBRC) -

Gadsden police are investigating a fight between two women that started inside a gas station and progressed outside to the parking lot.

Police say a 46-year-old woman reported being cut in the face by a box cutter by her 32-year-old female acquaintance. The two women were at the Crown Service Station at 1401 East Broad Street when they got into a fight around 11 p.m. Monday night. Police have not said what started the fight.

The victim told police they began punching and slapping each other inside the gas station, then moved outside to the parking lot where the younger woman cut the other woman in the face. Police say the 32-year-old woman then fled the scene. The victim was given stitches at Gadsden Regional hospital.

Police have not released the identity of the victim or the offender. They say the investigation is continuing.
