Pelham police say missing teen may be Mexico-bound

PELHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Pelham police are asking for help locating a missing teenager who may be on her way to Mexico.

Karina Romero-Sanchez, 16, was last seen in Calera after willingly leaving her home on April 15, according to a release from Pelham police issued Tuesday, April 23.

Police believe she may be staying at different places in the Calera/Montevallo area. She is not known to have access to a vehicle.

"Karina has also indicated that she wishes to be reunited with her parents in Mexico and may be seeking assistance traveling to Mexico," the police department said.

Karina is described as 5'0", 95 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. Anyone with information about this case or her whereabouts is asked to call local police or the Pelham Police Department at 205-620-6550.
