JEH JEH LIVE - Jeh Jeh joined us this morning with The 30th Magic City Art Connection.  The 30th Magic City Art Connection contemporary art festival transforms downtown Birmingham's Linn Park with its spring infusion of fresh artistic talent, sights, sounds and aromas. 30,000 visitors and their families head to the city center annually the last full weekend in April hungry for arts and culture, creativity, community and fun. Choose art from among 215 juried artists from around the country. Then add in the experience of Corks and Chefs: Food and Wine Tasting Event, 30 interactive art workshops for kids, live music and cultural dance performances on 2 stages, large scale art installations, and eating all day. Be sure to keep a look out for MCAC's 30/50 features in 2013 which celebrate the art show's 30th anniversary in conjunction with the civil rights movement's 50th. MINT JULEPS
- Tim Laird joined us this morning with some tips on making mint juleps!  Tim Laird is an authority on wines and spirits with more than 20 years experience in the hospitality industry. A connoisseur of fine wines, spirits and champagnes, Tim is also a gourmet chef and a master at entertaining and execution. In his current role as Chief Entertaining Officer of Brown-Forman, a major producer of fine wines and spirits in Louisville, Kentucky, Tim enjoys teaching audiences around the world how to make entertaining fun and easy, and how to make delicious cocktails.
Easy Mint Juleps: 2 oz. Woodford Reserve bourbon, 1 oz. simple mint syrup, Crushed ice, & Garnish with mint sprig. To make simple syrup, use 1 part water, 1 part sugar and 1 part loosely packed fresh Kentucky mint.  Bring sugar and water to a boil while stirring to dissolve.  Add mint and take off the heat.  Let stand for 20 minutes then strain into a tempered glass jar, let cool and refrigerate until ready to use. To make by the pitcher (8 drinks): 16 oz. Woodford Reserve bourbon&
8 oz. simple mint syrup. Mix bourbon and mint syrup.  Pour into a tall glass filled with crushed ice.  Garnish with a sprig of mint and a sipping straw. For more information, visit http://www.woodfordreservemintjulep.com


GRAYSON RUSSELL - Grayson Russell joined us this morning to talk about his new movie, "Grayson Russell Helps Save the Day in Space Warriors." Grayson Russell, known as Russell "Rusty" Riggs, helps save the day in his all new movie Space Warriors.  The exciting tale follows a group of exploring kids who attend Space Camp and find themselves in the middle of a real-life crisis when danger erupts aboard the International Space Station.  The film includes historical events and breathtaking special effects.  Space Warriors was filmed in Huntsville at the US Space and Rocket Center and stars Danny Glover, Josh Lucas, Oscar-winner Mira Sorvinao, Dermot Mulroney and Thomas Horn.  Sean McNamara (Soul Surfer) co-wrote and directed the kid-friendly movie.  Space Warriors premieres in select theaters nationwide tonight. PEOPLE MAGAZINE - The senior editor of PEOPLE magazine joined us this morning!  This year, PEOPLE Magazine continues its annual tradition of anointing the "World's Most Beautiful People." One of the magazine's most popular specials, the 2013 "Most Beautiful People" issue will feature a hot new set of "Beauties" from the worlds of movies, music, and television. The new edition is on store shelves today.

- The Junior League of Birmingham hosts its annual Bargain Carousel this weekend at the former JCPenney at Century Plaza. Tomorrow the doors open at 8am for the Bargain Carousel.  Entrance from 8-10am costs $10 and from 10am-5pm, it costs $5. Saturday sale tickets are available for purchase on April 26 from 3-7 p.m. The tickets are numbered, and patrons will enter the Bargain Carousel in order of their ticket number. It opens again on Sunday from 1-5pm. Admission is free and merchandise is half-price. For more information, visit www.bargaincarousel.net. The money raised from this event funds community projects that "benefit women and children in the metropolitan Birmingham area." Labeled as the largest garage sale in Birmingham, Bargain Carousel raises more than $185,000 each year for community programs. Pathways Employment Readiness Program, Children's Harbor and Jones Valley Urban Farms Seed2Plate are just some of the many beneficiaries. Junior League of Birmingham members and local businesses donate merchandise, which includes everything from table linens, vintage items,  appliances, yard furniture, kids toys, clothes and much more! Throughout a three-day period, more than 5,000 patrons will shop the event.
