An Altoona woman has been charged for shooting into an occupied dwelling, hitting the homeowner's house and car with bullets as she drove by multiple times.
Etowah County deputies arrested Megan Meshelle Fulenwider, 29, on Monday, April 22 for an incident that allegedly happened on Saturday, April 20.
The Etowah County Sheriff's Office said it began when an Altoona homeowner fired shots into the ground "attempting to get several individuals off of his property."
About 30 minutes later, Fulenwider returned to the home in her vehicle and drove past the house four times, firing several rounds of gunshots each time. No one was injured, but the bullets hit both the house and the homeowner's vehicle. Authorities say the homeowner's 12-year-old child was also inside the home at the time.
"This was not a random drive-by shooting. The discharging of firearms was intentional," Etowah County investigator Robin Grant said in a release.
Fulenwider was booked into the Etowah County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond. She was later released on bond.
"This incident was a very serious situation, one in which many people could have been hurt or killed. I applaud the investigators for their quick response and arrest in the case," Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin said.
The Altoona and Walnut Grove police departments assisted the Etowah County Sheriff's Office in the investigation.
