BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

The Birmingham City Council will make another attempt to appoint someone to the District 6 seat.

Carole Smitherman's seat has been empty since she left in January for a judgeship. The council tied 4-4 last week on two candidates and must find 5 votes for someone to be appointed.

Citizens Advisory Board President Sheila Tyson has been nominated again by the council's administration committee after only getting 4 votes last week.
