TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, AL (WBRC) -

A Tuscaloosa women's civic organization cut a big check to a Tuscaloosa County school in need. The Junior League of Tuscaloosa donated $15,000 to Holt Elementary on Monday.

A total of $10,000 was raised through fundraising and $5,000 was given by the Tuscaloosa Association of Realtors.

The money will be used to purchase eight Promethean boards for teachers to use for classroom instruction.

"It is very important for us to have these boards to us because it enhances the teaching and learning experience in the classroom," Niccole Poole, president of the Junior League, said.
