Local leaders from across Alabama joined together at the annual Alabama League of Municipalities convention in downtown Montgomery. Participants were able to network with other elected leaders from across Alabama and partake in roundtable discussions and business meetings, gathering important information that they can bring back to their local communities and constituents.
Governor Bentley gave the address during the opening session of the conference, speaking to the crowd on issues varying from the state economy to medicaid while offering his praises to Alabama's local leaders.
"They do a fantastic job," Bentley said. "I believe that the best government is local government…It's very important that we work together."
The Alabama League of Municipalities is a non-partisan membership association of more that 440 cities and towns across Alabama.
